Impact of Climate Change on Soil Erosion

نویسندگان

چکیده

Global warming is expected to result in a more vigorous hydrological cycle, including total rainfall and frequent high-intensity events, which affect soil erosion cause threat agricultural land sustainability productivity, particularly tropical subtropical regions. This study aims determine the effects of climate change on Taiwan. experiment assesses risk Taiwan over 2 – 200 years. To predictor risk, used USPED. Result showed there was an increase sediment yield because erosion. Hence, targeting conservation practices erosion-prone areas, expanding coverage, adapting agronomic may be necessary prevent excessive under scenarios that include intensified precipitation.

Potential impacts of climate change on soil erosion vulnerability across the conterminous United States

Rainfall runoff erosivity (R) is one key climate factor that controls water erosion. Quantifying the effects of climate change–induced erosivity change is important for identifying critical regions prone to soil erosion under a changing environment. In this study we first evaluate the changes of R from 1970 to 2090 across the United States under nine climate conditions predicted by three genera...

Impact of land use change on soil erodibility

Vulnerability of soil separates to detachment by water is described as soil erodibility by Universal Soil Loss Equation which can be affected by land use change. In this study it was attempted to quantify the changes of Universal Soil Loss Equation K-factor and its soil driving factors in three land uses including rangeland, rainfed farming, and orchards in Babolrood watershed, northern Iran. S...

Investigation of Land Use Change on Physicochemical Characteristics and Soil Erosion in Kaftargar Basin of Behshahr

The land-use change, cutting forest trees and the grasslands conversion to agricultural lands destroyed natural ecosystems and also current or future production capacity reduce and these are harmful effects on the soil physicochemical characteristics. This study taken with aim, checking the role of forest-land change on some soil physical-chemical characteristics and then identify some effectiv...

Climate change Effects of Surface soil temperature profile in Ahwaz

In arid and semi-arid regions, soil surface warming is a considerable phenomenon causing a high thermal gradient which makes water flow intensely. The degree of soil temperature is effective on crop production, plant growth and soil microorganisms. In recent years, the ascending trend of temperature has been substantially noticed by researchers in the issues of pointwise climate change and at w...

Erosion Modelling in a Mediterranean Subcatchment under Climate Change Scenarios Using Pan-european Soil Erosion Risk Assessment (pesera)

The Mediterranean region is particularly prone to erosion. This is because it is subject to long dry periods followed by heavy bursts of erosive rainfall, falling on steep slopes with fragile soils, resulting in considerable amounts of erosion. In parts of the Mediterranean region, erosion has reached a stage of irreversibility and in some places erosion has practically ceased because there is ...
